becoming a pumper!

Today I received my One Touch Ping in the mail! Unfortunately I have to wait until August 10th to be trained for it, so until then I just have to sit around and look at it. I am getting really excited though, and I can't wait until I can start it!
I will have to start thinking of a name for my new pink best friend. what have you guys named your pumps? also if anyone has any advice for me before starting on the pump, that would be appreciated too!

- Awww, my mini is black, and I don't use it much anymore - although I should carry it with me. Ever have those days where you forget the remote ping meter at home? I haven't figured out how to guess with the pump - I used to do okay if I had to for one meal on the needles, but with all the calculations in my pump, I don't like taking chances. It's great that the transition for you hasn't been too difficult, I know a lot of people go through depression and grief when diagnosed. When I was diagnosed one of the first things they told me is that they expect a cure in the next 10 years. Well that pissed me off - I didn't want a false sense of hope at that time, I was just trying to come to terms with the whole thing. It would be cool if they had a few more colours for the pump too....purple would be nice. Do you use the pink infusion set too? ; )

- I totally agree. I can eat what I want when I want now. It's awesome. Plus - no more hiding out in the bathroom taking needles. How did you deal with your diagnosis - I see that it was pretty recent? It's definitely a shock when you first find out. : ( I wish they made the glucose tester pink too...Silver is boring!
