So Stressed

I'll get to specifics when i get home (as far as stress, because it's major), but right now i just have a quick question.

As of my last check up, my numbers were all, as my doc said, excellent. Liver, Kidneys, Cholesterol, A1C, all of it. Excellent.

Anyways, I am dealing with another health issue right now (whenever i take in deep breaths, i get a sharp bain in my back/rib area).

My Chest X-Ray = Normal.

So she has me take a blood/urine test to check for any infections and she wants a Chest… Continue

Some Advice

Hello and Happy Friday.

I have a quick question that I hope to get some comments on.

As you may or may not have read in my previous blog, my doctor wants me to try taking my med only once a day. I totally did not think to ask her this at the time, so what better place then here to get some answers.

When should I take this? I mean, I'm on metformin and have been taking it twice a day (breakfast/dinner) since november. But now, I don't know what would be the best time.

Any advice would be appr… Continue

Hi Veronica,
Nice A1C!! Congrats... :-) I haven't check mine since I was diagnose... But I might able to have it check this week...
I am taking metformin 3x a day, but sometimes I only take it 2x a day because before lunch my BG is too low 70 to 77, and even If I don't take meds at lunch time my BG will be in a safe mode after 2 hours like 115 to 135.
I have a question, How often do you check your BG... You know what? I might be in San Diego before the year ends... Hope to see you in person...

NP. Yeah, figuring out oral meds can be a challenge since we have to "eat to the meds" to a much greater degree than the insulin-dependents need to "eat to the shots".

Hi Veronica!

Thanks for the note. Yea, big Charger fan here, we have season tickets. I was reading your posts and saw that you were at the Denver game. I brought my kids to that game, I had major guilt it being Christmas Eve and all. We bring my daughters "test kit" with us everywhere, Padre games, on airplanes, and no one hassles us about a meter and glucogon, food, or drinks. I'd raise a big fuss if anyone questioned us. I did have to call a supervisor over once but they let us through. My daughter is on the pump. But we take all our supplies on the plane. You never know how long a flight is going to end up taking.

Holler if you ever need anything.

:-), yes, get buy something and reward yourself.. I am thankful to the Lord that when it comes to my diabetes... everything is ok, i've already mastered how to control it... maintaining from 83 to 120 fasting and post prandial readings... though sometimes.... sometimes... I have cravings... chocolate, marshmallows but i see to it that my BG is still in control level...
My problem is how to relax, seems I am always stress, that's the reason why my blood pressure is some kinda elevated, sometimes, when I am at the peak of my nervousness my bp readings was 140/90,,, its stress related... whew... i don't know what kind of exercise I need in order to stay relax... How can i stop being a worry wart???, Don't you have problem such as this?
Take care...

hi, how are u? I can see you're online right now... congratulation on your weight loss, that's something to celebrate! I am overweight too, infact stage 1 obese when I was diagnose with T2 diabetes, I start focusing on my weight lossjust last November 8, over a year after I was diagnosed... I was 88 kilos before I start my goal, now, after almost 2 months, my total weight loss is 12 kilos (26.24lbs)... Isn't it great to be lighter? Goodluck to your goal... :-)
