I have been a diabetic since 1968 and have seen the health care diabetics receive go down the tubes in America. When I was diagnosed, we had no health insurance at all and my mom had 6 kids to take care of alone. She worked hard to just keep us with food, clothes and shelter. When I got sick, she did not have the money to take me to the hospital but their was a county health nurse that came to our house and worked with me to learn about what I needed to eat and medicine I needed to take. I've been T1 for 40 years and I "lost" my job two years ago, COBRA ended last August and my savings dried up in October!!! I've been angry and frustrated, but mostly just hurt by the medical nightmare I've been in!!! I'm about to join the ONE CARE UNIVERSAL HEALTH fan on facebook (I hope I have that name right) and would like to make a video for it... maybe you can look into it, too... and hopefully I can share more another day when I have more time...
