The U.S healthcare system is a problem for a lot of people, including diabetics. If you support universal (single payer) healthcare, join this group! Especially since the ADA and JDRF don't seem to have anything to say on this important issue.

Want feedback on new testing supply program for uninsured diabetics.

As of Nov. 12 the Diabetes Wellness Fund is launched here in Portland, OR. I conceived of this idea quite a while back, but now it has materialized. I am very excited about it. If you would, take a look at www.coalitionclinics.org and click on the red heart at the bottom right of the home page. I really want some feedback from my TUD friends;some suggestions on improving the fund-raising potential would be great. Thank you all and Happy WDD!

It's a good thing you only have to deal with the double D, you deserve a break today. But yes I should enjoy more out-side time when the weather is like today, not too cold and the sun is out. I went to get some labs done this morning, took bus down and back and enjoyed the sunlight. But they took about 8 or 9 viles of blood, this new doc is really good and is brand new to town. Everyone I've talked to really likes him and he is certainly better than the last (I hate to say it) bitch didn't care if I was alive or not or even in serious pain like in my right foot. I have a few sergery technics I could use on her but at least I'm done with clinics and have a regular GP who cares. Take care, Gus

Hi, Virgil. Great suggestion to do an article about living well with diabetes on low income! We've feature some tips before, but not in one article. We're researching patient assistance programs currently and hope to publish info on those soon. Thanks very much for the suggestion. And if you have specific tips, I'd love to hear them! Glad to have "met" you at tudiabetes.

Hey Hi Virgil,
You asked what the blue and white things are in my Scarey Hypo image; they are what is torn off of the needle tops which I then screw onto my insulin pens so that I can inject myself.

Hi Virgil, doing well and trying to keep away from the N1H1 deal. I spend a lot of time inside away from any contact with people. I guess it is mainly due to my Cymbalta I take, but as any thing else just enjoying visiting with everyone on different areas. Take care and hope to hear from you when you get a chance.

Thanks for your comment. I respect your view, but respectfully disagree. It doesn't make us adversaries of course, and there are some issues that are common ground.
