Stemwinder said… Hi ,
You may have noticed TuD hanging around the site. It's his 6th birthday this month, and his big international family of people with diabetes is growing. Our 6th birthday fundraising campaign is on! Every dollar you donate allows TuDiabetes to reach 6 people touched by diabetes, giving them the opportunity to not be alone!
Please consider making a donation, as well as asking your friends and family to give what they can. TuD's birthday party will keep getting more guests as we raise more donations (see top of the home page). Let's help keep our family thriving and growing! Please share this message. Thanks!
A PS ...what I understand about the DTC process, one needs to have an income and have paid taxes ...and it maybe retroactive
BJ has this discussion going about DTC http://www.tudiabetes.org/group/canada/forum/topics/help-for-anyone-wanting-assistance-with-the-t2201-dtc-forms
You may find this usefull !
As promised the discusssion in the Canada Group . The title DTC is somewhat questionable in mho , so ignore and complete and mail off ...what counts is for you to qualify and as a PS my then GP did NOT complete properly and I went elsewhere . http://www.tudiabetes.org/group/canada/forum/topics/disability-tax-credit-for-type?commentId=583967%3AComment%3A399619&groupId=583967%3AGroup%3A6297

If your Doctor has never done a DTC application for a diabetic before, you should check to see if your Endo has. It has to be filled out very carefully, otherwise it runs a high risk of being rejected.
Stay tuned Willow ...getting ready for a lady , who will start insulin pumping soon ..Her Specialist ( mine as well ) suggested to her to meet up ...at 10.30 am ...no time to " house clean " , ha, ha and just back from my GP .N

Hello! Thank you for having me as a friend Willow!
I'm in Kitchener-Waterloo. I'm a wife of 33 years (hubby is also diabetic), mom to two grown children (one 28, the other 26), a grandma to 3 lovable little boys, a teacher, and before that an illustrator (still do some) and graphic designer....I speak French fluently, I read, history fascinates me, I paint, sing, walk, garden, ski, ride my bike....did I mention "read"? I love having friends over, I bake/cook, am an eclectic music lover, an animal lover...the ocean...ah the ocean...it speaks to me! Oh...and I have diabetes (and a few other things).
Nice to have you as a friend!!! Tell me a bit about yourself and keep in touch, ok?
hugs....linda

brokenpole said… Welcome to the family! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of all you will learn that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and even to vent to, if needed. Welcome home.
