Old CGM Units

Hi all. I am very blessed to have pretty decent insurance coverage that allows me to replace my CGM unit every year for free after my deductible is met. I now have an extra Dexcom 7 and a Dexcom 7+ that work perfectly fine. Is it legal to sell them for a small price? Or can I give them to someone who might need the device and can only afford sensors? Not sure about the laws on this stuff.... just seems like a waste sitting in my closet, not being used.See More

"Ha, so Edgepark just called because Animas told them to see what was happening with my pump order. I guess I can eat my words now. Of course, Edgepark is trying to get the sale. Of course, I still have no idea if there will be a sale at all. Animas…"

"My warranty is up tomorrow. They wont call, believe me they wont call. You could go on for a long time and they wouldnt keep after you on this. I'm just about a hundred percent sure. And you can get a credit for your 2020 I think. They are not…"

"Depends on the pump company. I do not believe Animas makes such calls (please correct me if anyone knows differently) but when my Medtronic pump warranty expired I got 2 phone calls per day for about 2 weeks- drove my wife nuts! If you are using…"

"Interesting that you get to keep it. I just assumed that we had to send it back for a discount on the new one. The warranty on my pump expires in October. So, when can I expect the pump company to start calling me for an upgrade?"

"You get to keep it (Unless you are Medicare and those I believe you have to send back because technically Medicare was just "renting" it) as between you and the insurance company it is bought and paid for. There may be some insurance…"

Hi! I'm Windy and I'm a 29 year old SAHM. I've played piano since I was 6 and teach piano lessons also! I've had Type 1 diabetes since I was 7 years old. Catherine's son lives in St. Pete so we get down there quite often. Next time I'll drop you a note and maybe we can get together. I think St. Pete is one of the better places in the state.

Did you ever find out more about PAS, Type 2? I just made a post myself, came across the same information and am feeling worried about the 50% chance in kids thing!

OK...so your comment made me tear up because ... I really feel ya on that one! but ya know what......tomorrow is another day right? and we have to keep pressin' on although hard as that might be sometimes

I know sometimes I can be such a bear...not to the point of being abusive or anything but I just either turn myself off to kids or hubby completely or I'm a crank-ass and not patient whatsoever.....and of course with the stress comes higher numbers on the machine too.....and then the GUILT oy vey the GUILT comes and that's the worst part.....then of course that gets you thinking inside your own brain about what a dang jerk you feel like you have been ....and so what do you do.....I just go in, give my hubby and hug/kiss and tell him I know I'm a pain the butt but somehow you still love me......hug and kiss on the kids more and start all over again......

some of it is time management too....it's so hard to be a mom in every direction and still try to put yourself top priority.... that is my main goal this year is to TRY and put myself first again ..... we'll see how long that lasts LOL

Okay I'm wayyyyyy rambling, probably not making sense lol and I'm sending BIG HUGS from california!!!!!

Thanks for your kind words!!

Would you like me to send you some TuDiabetes 4x6 cards that you could give to people you run into or maybe share them with RN's and CDE's you meet with?

I love the "Howie" story. My girls say things like that too. My favorite is "I want bessert (dessert)."

I had a post awhile back asking for name suggestions, and Rickina came up with the winning names, Thelma and Louise. I figured since they're with me through thick and thin, I better give them names. My family knows them by those names too!

Thank you very much for the kind words. I have always been taught by the good book " Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Here is wishing you and your family a blessed week.
