Diaverseries kind of remind me of birthdays... in that it's kind of strange to celebrate the passing of another year...because we, or at least I, don't feel we've done anything extraordinary...just living...so for a diaversary...it's celebrating get…

Hi Thanks for sharing because I'm preparing to get one and it's good to hear both sides of the experience but especially what problems to expect/look out for. As for the A1C...I don't think it's been long enough to see a large impact yet. Also other…

Glad you made it through the incident. I've always found that holding a purring cat is very soothing at the end of a long day and just boosts my mood.

一歩一歩 (one step one step or step by step) Basal Rate testing

Knowledge is Power and I finally took the plunge and did an overnight basal rate test (it’s been years) It also served as an excuse to not exercise…but since I have guests coming this weekend, I did clean, which can be exercise itself.
I had suspected from a few random middle of night checks and consistent lows in the morning that I had been dropping at some point in the night. My fasting blood sugar has more often than not been below 70 (often 40s and 50s), which is not a good place to start th… Continue

Perfect Score on Pre and Post Exercise Glucose test

Tonight was a good night ....Initially I didn't want to go to workout at all being tired... but decided to just go for a "little bit" and as always tested. Coming out with the perfect :

I ate 1 glucose tab to ward off any lows as I hadn't had dinner yet. I ended up doing… Continue

夢中になっていたーDreaming and Hypoglycemia

Early yesterday morning, I dreamt that I was taking lessons to fly a plane…I was for some reason sitting next to my copilot tilted back in the seat, facing up to the sky rather than ahead (I know this doesn’t make sense…but it’s a dream) and waiting to take off, but there was a stream of delays…very frustrating and then just as it seemed we were finally, my alarm clock went off… I had set it to test myself in the middle of the night… and it was within range for me (126) so I went back to sleep a… Continue

死活問題...Literally (Past Memories 1)

One of the issues that comes up at least for T1s...is whether you were diagonosed as a child or adult...which sometimes devolves into a who has it worst experience...the main problem with that is that having lived only one life it's hard to really know... and no one deals with issues the same way since you're surrounding circumstances can have such an impact...so having been diagnosed as a child (5) I can only really speak from that perspective...

I think one of the hardest things about being d… Continue

一日千秋 (いちにち せんしゅう) one day is like a thousand autumns

I finally managed to schedule an appointment with a new endocrinologist in August….and now the wait…
I’m not sure if I should be grateful or not, but currently work is in a bit of a lull again (my work tends to cycle through intense and slow periods), but it makes waiting more difficult….
It’s only two weeks away, but …how will this work out? Will I finally find my destined match? Will she be able to give me the support I need/want? Isn’t there some way to just test a doctor/practice out w/o nec… Continue

Thank you for your input on my blog post. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of research on living with diabetes in the college setting, I really had to dig for information...but it was worth it. The articles that I found were very interesting. I hope that you enjoy a healthy holiday season.
