hey no problems, i'd be pleased to help if i can :o)
i spent several years trying to convince my previous diabetic team to let me have one and then gave up, because basically they said I was non compliant (which I wasn't I just had "labile" diabetes I think that used to be called 'brittle') so it was too expensive to basically 'waste' on me.
Maybe in defense I then developed some reservations and worried about being 'connected' 24/7 and the amount of work it would be and how much it would have cost me to get one privately, but I changed teams nearly 3 years ago, and when my HbA1c was still high despite my best efforts I decided to give it go as I am desperate to have a baby.
Maaaaaaaaan!!! I would not changed it for anything now, as you may have seen my HbA1c has come down nearly 2% in 7 months :0) It is totally worth it, it'd be a pleasure to help you in any way I can.

here's a link to the Accu-chek UK site showing the combo pump. I currently have the Accu-chek Spirit. I've only found out about the Combo because several of our members here from the UK have them.

here, we call your system MDI, multiple dose injections . I know it's harder to get the pump over there, but it's funny, my pump manufacturer, has a new model out, and you can get it in the UK, but not here. I'd like to get it because the pump talks to the blood glucose meter, and the bolus calculator is in the meter. Glad you like Ry. He's done some great albums and lots of soundtracks to films.

I guess I'm in the DAFNE group. I'm on a pump, and I have a bolus calculator on my palm pilot, and it's set up for a couple of different insulin to carb ratios depending on what time of day I'm eating. My husband works from home, so we shop, cook, and eat together just about every meal. He's in the grocery business too, so he loves to do the shopping. Sending you a link to an interesting record album from Ry Cooder, called "Chicken Skin Music".(in Hawaii, "goose bumps" are called "chicken skin")

don't know about DAFNE, well maybe I do, but I don't recognize the acronym. I'm kinda doing the low carb thing, 'cuz I'm really bad at counting carbs. if I don't eat too many, I don't make too many mistakes. Speaking of chicken grease, I had some last night when my husband roasted a whole chicken. We were fighting over the crispy bits. do you have to watch your protein intake in addition to the salt and potassium? LPCG!
