Angelintrini,

It doesn't seem to matter which form of this disease you have there are going to be troubles and complications. When I went on insulin in 1996 I had my control down so tight that I had A1c reading as low as 4.3. Look at where that averages out. I was having lows at night 3 or more times a month. It drove my poor wife nearly crazy. For quite a few years my poor wife was afraid to sleep at night for fear that I would have a low and not wake up. Then I went and saw my first endo and he got on my case about controlling to low.

I read all about T2 and what it would/could do to me. It scared me so bad I figured that I controlled as low as I could. Figured it would keep the complications in check. Then the neuropophy started and that theroy kind of went out the window.

My philosphy any more is to control around 5.0 and let the complications worry about themselves because I will have done all I can do to stop them. I tend not to even read articles about the latest findings that tie T2 to anything else. I control as try to loose weight and that is all I can do. The rest is just worry and adds stress, which can also make matters worse.

But that's me and I have lived with this longer. But just do your best and maintain control.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Welcome to the family! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of all you will learn that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and even to vent to, if needed. Welcome home.

To exercise or not to exercise

Posted on October 4, 2011 at 10:48pm 0 Comments

Today was a good day. I was checking out the website health.com and got some encouragement about setting exercise goals. So I got all excited and made a chart. Tonight I did 30 minutes of zumba and 6 minutes of cardio and I'm so proud of myself considering I didn't do much exercise last week. I procrastinated and finally gave in. I feel really good now. So heres hoping to feeling the same way tomorrow.
