My daughter with diabetes and celiac disease

Posted on December 19, 2008 at 12:16pm 3 Comments

Hi! My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in August and I was totally shocked. We were all in shock but got through it and have been managing it pretty well. My daughter is such a trooper and I am so proud of her. I still cry some days just thinking about what could happen to her in the future. She just turned 11 this week and was just dianosed with celiac disease so now our lives have changed even more. Just having diabetes seemed so much easier than having both diseases. Luckily she… Continue

hello, april, welcome here! I don't have celiac, but I really enjoy these gluten-free crackers, called marysgonecrackers. My husband is in the food biz, and they have been winning all the awards this year in Specialty Foods.

Welcome to tudiabetes April. It sounds as if you have found the right place for support:) I was thought to have celiac last year, but ended up not to be the case. Your daughter is fortunate to have a mom who is going out and learning what she can on these illnesses. Enjoy your break from school and I hope you get some quality time with your family (I'm a teacher too).

Hi April, I know things feel very hard right now and you are probably feeling pretty helpless. I can totally sympathize with what you are going through. My daughter was diagnosed in Nov. She is 14. I am sorry to hear that she also has celic on top of everything that she has to deal with at such a young age. You have come to the right spot for support! Welcome to TudDiabets!!
