I've been a diabetic for a decade now. I was a fighter before, never scared of injecting myself nor denying the pity of my friends. I'm quite an adventurous/sporty person, always on the go, and never give in to haughty people. 2 years have passed, my diabetese is still there, I guess Im just denying rather than fighting my illness. My weight increased, I loss my self-esteem because my physical appearance was my stronghold. I was angry at God, "why me?!" out of all the people I know who're far worst than me. I was really a good girl before I had diabetese then I became the black sheep of the family. I really felt depressed and ended up having suicidal thoughts and eating disorder, bulimia. 3 years ago, I started behaving well, just neglecting my illness and thinking it's part of my daily routine - no choice but to check and inject insulin. But I wasnt really taking good care of myself, I always have an HBAIC that's above the normal, 6.7-8. Right now, I'm quite getting worried because of the complications. Although I do check-ups, lately I havent been doing one due to tight work schedule but I will work on it. Im on the stage of accepting my illness. I really wanted to breakthrough and breakfree. I wanted to embrace my illness hence I hope to find a support group. I am also thinking of using an insulin pump and someday, perhaps I can also contribute to a diabetic foundation. I hope to hear from your end too =)
