Yet another which pump should I get question

I know there is a boatload of discussion on this topic so I'm going to see if I can get some clarification on a couple questions I have. Background: I've been on MDI for 20 years and in the process…Continue

Boluses Cancelling

I guess the asking of the question contains the answer, but I'm going to put it out there anyway.I got started less than a week ago with my new Ping. So far things are great. One problem I've had, however, is when I have the pump on my hip (clipped to my pants) and I bolus for a meal from the meter. Twice now I must have moved during the bolus and caused it to press a button on the pump and cancel and I didn't hear or feel an alarm until a couple hours later.Should I be locking the buttons…See More

ooh, they'd better not discontinue the backup, I don't yet know all the deatils of my trial of the combo

hey Badger, I'm on the Spirit, and I've used their pumps for over 22 years. getting ready to trial the combo btw. let me know if you have any questions. personally the pod doesn't appeal to me, because it's this big plastic egg that sticks on your bod, I want the absolute smallest piece of plastic stuck on me. one of my fav things about the spirit is having the second pump as a back up. you simply do not need to have a back up plan for MDI if soemthing happens. plus, I can tell you their customer service over the entire 22+ years I've experienced has been nothing short of stellar.

I know we need some sort of help section to explain some of the concepts. Here is what we wrote about these numbers in the news: The App will utilize the average blood glucose of the last 30 days. Next to the symbol ⇔ you will find the average of the current hour. Furthermore next to the symbol ⇒ you will find the average of the hour after the insulin is gone (now plus 4 hours depending on your IOB settings). These statistical figures should help you to make small adjustments at the current position in time to slowly improve the coming average blood glucose. It is like a feedback loop.

Thanks for the info. The last package was not the correct one. It was preconfigured for another account for testing. Thus I updated the Beta package. You can use the same link for downloading. Please sync your database with the Glucosurfer before switching to the newer version. You can do this by opening the log once.

Hi Jeremy, thanks for your comment on the Glucosurfer. The Android market is rather huge so it is good to learn that our App has an interesting approach. We are in the testing phase of our new Android App with offline capabilities. You can find the beta release at the following location. Be warned that it might have some problems. Just let me know so we can fix them: http://www.glucosurfer.org/App/Android/GlucosurferBeta.apk
