Lows at night

I am curious about what happens to people when they have lows at night. I either have a nightmare or wake up thinking my apartment is on fire because I am so hot. Last night I had a low and I woke up to find that I had pulled my CGM off my arm thinking it was a big bug. It took me about 10 mins to find my sensor on the other side of the room...... What weird things have happened to you???See More

Naked Showers + 10k= Awesome Weekend

Posted on September 14, 2014 at 5:08pm 2 Comments

This weekend rocked :-) Not only did I get a naked shower on Saturday. Yes, a naked shower, you know that magical time when your sensor and site need to be changed on the same day.... I also ran in my first 10k, not only did I not spike during the middle of the run but I also didn't crash in the afternoon. Oh and the 10k was finished in just under an hour. Went to my parents for a lunch of grilled salmon and roasted veggies right out of their garden. Then I had Thai food for supper with a…

The first day of school

Posted on August 25, 2014 at 1:08pm 6 Comments

So today started off like the first day of school has for the past 12 years (NOT). Actually my 13th year of teaching started off at 4am with my cgm telling me I was low. I felt a bit shaky but really had to pee so I went to the bathroom first. On my way from the bathroom to my bg meter (about 8 steps) I managed to pass out. I don't remember falling but when I came to I was staring at the ceiling with my head and butt hurting. I tested my bg thinking I was wicked low or something, nope I was…

Words

Words are a curious thing they can lift us up or pull us down. We can say something with good intention and it comes across the wrong way. This happens a lot when you aren't face to face with people and are communicating through messaging, emails, and yes the chat room.

A couple of days ago there was someone in chat that was feeling bad about a rather high bg number. Instead of getting suggestions on what they could do to help get it down or the much wanted "hey, that sucks"…
