Welcome to the club, glad you are no longer lurking. Having joined just a few months ago, I am amazed at how much I have learned here. Not sure what a contractor for Sanofi's diabetes franchise is. Not even sure what a diabetes franchise is but in any case lantus is a good product, and we're all happy you're here. I'm not as talented as Linda with the frogs but welcome.

Welcome to the family! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of all you will learn that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and even to vent to, if needed. Welcome home.

Four straight quarters with an A1c under 7

Posted on May 13, 2014 at 6:47am 0 Comments

In reverse order the values have been 6.0, 6.4, 6.0, 6.6. The first time in 43 years I was under 7 was that 6.6.

It makes me smile inside - never thought I would get here.

A diabetic marriage

Posted on February 25, 2014 at 12:39pm 4 Comments

This is primarily a love note to my wife. Linda will never read it because she does not belong to TuD. My reasons for writing are twofold; 1) she deserves it and 2) I have learned a lot about what’s possible from people sharing on TuD and sharing this is sharing what is possible in a diabetic marriage.

Last Thursday I was sitting in a new doctor’s office filling out forms. One question asked me to rate my general health. Of course I picked “healthy.” On the other hand, I have been a…

A full year under 7.0 A1c

Posted on February 6, 2014 at 6:58am 11 Comments

Just got my latest A1c = 6.4%. That makes 4 quarters under 7 (6.4, 6.6, 6.0, 6.5). In 43 years as a T1 these are the only time I had a value in the "sixes." TuD was a big part of this, pointed me in the direction of ultra low carb diet. I hope nobody reads this because I am not really bragging just happy, happy, happy! Maybe I'll shoot for a 5?
