Hola!
I was born in Colombia (South America), in a sunny morning of 1974... Wait, that's too cheesy. Anyway, I lived there until I was 24, and then moved to the Province of Quebec (Canada) where I made my life for about 7 years, with some hiccups in the middle (married, separated, divorced... the whole enchilada!). Oh, and I'm a proud Canadian citizen since June 2004.
I moved to the U.S., got married again, and now I share my life with a wonderful man somewhere over the rainbow, with Dorothy, Toto and the ruby slippers (that's Kansas). We are owned by two crazy cats named Shayla and Maia, and a bunch of other silly fish who eat a lot. I have a B.Sc. in Biology, and I work as a non-medical caregiver for older adults.
Diagnosed type 2 diabetes in 2002. It didn't come as a surprise, my father was a diabetic and he died at age 64. I struggle with the fact that I sometimes forget I need to take better care of myself.

Chris Bishop said… - No, unfortunately I have not found any other Diabetics who are my age in the area. It seems like everyone I have met are much much older. The is one guy at work who is a type 1 but not into his Diabetes like we are. He's on a pup and manages well but doesn't seem to be involved in the community at all. Let me know if you know anyone.
