Thanks Scott for the review of MMs cgm. I got a new 522 this year and the purpose was to get MMs cgm because it's suppose to interface with the pump. But after your assessment it's not for me. I did try the 7+ cgm and it's not as confusing as MMs....

Sorry about your friend but having a chronic disease does not make anyone exempt from punishment when they break the law.

I know you are recently diagnosed this year so I understand your confused state (by the way it sounds like your honeymoon is over). What you need is a CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator) to get you on track. An educator can give you info regarding y...

Drug Firm's Bitter Pill

In my local paper today there is an article regarding Eli Lilly and how they have taken liberties with claims on a drug that they manufacture. Although people are always looking for miracle drugs they have to remember THERE ARE NONE! This is a link to an article and how many billions tof dollars they have to pay. This is not the first time that a pharmacuital company has misrepresented their product, read the article and form your own opinion.

Glucose Monitor

I don't know if anyone has an extra supply of monitors but I do. I've gotten them for free at pharmacies that have promotional gatherings to introduce their products. Sometimes I've used them and sometimes not eventually they accumulate. I know there are people who could use a machine but don't know where to send them. At times I've run across websites that ask for supplies but it's been a while and I can't remember what sites they are.

MYSTERIOUS LEG PAINS

I've been seeing a Neurologist because of painful legs, that is not Neuropathy. This has been going on for a while. The doctor put me on Lyerica and it helps, sometimes. Now he has decided that further studies need to be done like a doppler test and special bloodwork. I'm wondering has anyone had this experience and what was the outcome? It's frustrating from day-to-day when I wake up I never know what the day will be like. Whether I'll be able to exercise; will I be able to shop; will I be a

CAR KEYS

Had quite an adventure on Sunday. I went to the Supermarket with the intent of getting an electric knife. I have been wanting an electric knife for quite a while. I could have had one years ago but never just never bought one. Anyway, as I said I went to the market…I also got some tomatoes and lettuce. After paying for those items (this is where my story gets interesting), I went to my car and reached in my pocket for keys an

Strange

This afternoon I had the strangest thing happen after eating lunch. In all of my 48 years, living with D I don't remember this ever happening. I had eaten lumch, which consisted of a large green salad with some chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers and salad dressing (the real kind of dressing). I also had a half an apple. When I finished I watched tv, thinking I would wait an hour and test to make sure my bg was within safe range before leaving for some errands.

When the hour came to test I fe

What complications did you have? I'm glad that they are reversible.

After all these years with diabetes and your leg pain is non-diabetic related, you must have been really taking good care of yourself. I hope to follow your example.

I'm really grateful for the internet. I felt so isolated with nobody around me understanding what being diabetic meant. 'Well meaning' friends and relatives kept telling me to eat this or eat that, it will cure you. As if there can be such a simple cure! I've learnt so much since joining this forum. How are your leg pains? Hope you'd get better.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that I had hysterectomy 5 years ago but my ovaries are intact. That's why I am unaware of going into menopause. My gynae told me that I will go through early menopause without my uterus but I had no problems until now with the mood swing. I think knowing the root cause of the problem helps me to deal with it better. I've started on a multi-vitamin B regime and it seems to help.
