MEDICARE PART B

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 6:48pm 7 Comments

i hope I'm doing this right it's been such a long time since I've posted. Anyway here I go regarding Medicare Part B. I recently started ordering my insulin from Prescription Solution because they accept Part B Medicare to pay for insulin because it's considered Durable Equipment when used with a pump. For those of us on Medicare know how fast insulin can eat up our allotment of Part D for prescriptions. I was wondering if anyone knew of other companies that accept Part B Medicare to pay for…

Drug Firm's Bitter Pill

Posted on January 16, 2009 at 5:55pm 5 Comments

In my local paper today there is an article regarding Eli Lilly and how they have taken liberties with claims on a drug that they manufacture. Although people are always looking for miracle drugs they have to remember THERE ARE NONE! This is a link to an article and how many billions tof dollars they have to pay. This is not the first time that a pharmacuital company has misrepresented their product, read the article and form your own… Continue

Glucose Monitor

Posted on January 10, 2009 at 6:50pm 3 Comments

I don't know if anyone has an extra supply of monitors but I do. I've gotten them for free at pharmacies that have promotional gatherings to introduce their products. Sometimes I've used them and sometimes not eventually they accumulate. I know there are people who could use a machine but don't know where to send them. At times I've run across websites that ask for supplies but it's been a while and I can't remember what sites they are.

MYSTERIOUS LEG PAINS

Posted on December 26, 2007 at 6:10pm 4 Comments

I've been seeing a Neurologist because of painful legs, that is not Neuropathy. This has been going on for a while. The doctor put me on Lyerica and it helps, sometimes. Now he has decided that further studies need to be done like a doppler test and special bloodwork. I'm wondering has anyone had this experience and what was the outcome? It's frustrating from day-to-day when I wake up I never know what the day will be like. Whether I'll be able to exercise; will I be able to shop; will I be…

CAR KEYS

Posted on October 29, 2007 at 3:19pm 2 Comments

Had quite an adventure on Sunday. I went to the Supermarket with the intent of getting an electric knife. I have been wanting an electric knife for quite a while. I could have had one years ago but never just never bought one. Anyway, as I said I went to the market…I also got some tomatoes and lettuce. After paying for those items (this is where my story gets interesting), I went to my car and reached in my pocket for keys…

Hi Betty- Thanks for your kind words on the passing of my and my husbands' friend. I am making an effort to keep my BG lower than they have been lately. I hope you had a nice T-giving, perhaps with family and friends. We had our dinner with some friends b/c we have little family. Our children live in different states, not very close to us. I hope you have a nice holiday season and take care of yourself. Cat

Hi Betty- Thanks for your comments on my blog. It was nice to meet you at the day in Philly. I am always happy to meet TuD people in person. You have certainly had D for a long time. I am sure you have seen all the changes in treatment and technology over the years. Stay well and keep in touch. Cat =^..^= P.S. I am starting to feel better from the cellulitis.

Hi Betty, Great meeting and talking with you in Philly. Continued success with your pump. Although living with diabetes is still a major hassle, life is so much better than, as you said, "the dark ages". Finished my first 40 years with D, and looking forward to my next 40. Hope to see you at another meetup. Bill
