Hey....Happy Birthday fellow Canadian!!!Though I am a pediatric endo,but I think you have to be on insulin to control your diabetes.Ask your doctor to put you on insulin,and go on low carbohydrate diet,jenny's book is amazing and she is great.Let me know about your progress.Happy New Year.
Those family histories can be killers.....I guess we can only try to learn from them and not perpetuate them. I'd think that acknowleding the wounds caused by your relationship with your father, is a great step toward healing them.
I'm sure you are aware that a disproportionate number of diabetics struggle with depression. Of course, a desease can be depressing, but lots of us struggle with it even before diagnoses. Lucky us, eh!?
I'm sure you also know that we are all here for each other.
