Thanks for explaining. Makes sense to me. I think humalog is made by a recombinant DNA process. The insulin gene is inserted in E. coli. bacteria (apparently yeast can also be used).

I'm curious as to where you draw the line on not using animal tested products. Even a vegan T1 must use insulin, and it was discovered after Banting and Best removed the pancreases from their experimental dogs.

Depends on where you are. Some places do use the mask even with the first test. That way if they find that you do have a problem they can adjust the pressure setting to determine how much pressure you need to stop the apneas.

Sorry, but there's only one type of Contour strips. The new Contour meter gives a faster, but less accurate reading using hte same strip as the older 15 second meter.

I wouldn't be surprised it this was true for some people. My sleep doctor told me that he has seen a definite correlation between diabetics and people with sleep apnea.

I've been looking for a forum that has more technical content than the one I am currently in, and I have high hopes for Tu Diabetes. I dropped the Tu Diabetes URL on my old forum so we may get new members from there.
