I know it is normal do have higher BGs when sick, but is it expected for glucometers to be less accurate when under medication or sick?I've been using the Contour Next Link glucometer and my Dexcom…Continue

"I'd try a 2nd meter if you have doubts. The CGM should be estimating/basing its numbers off your meter inputs. My experience with the Dexcom is that it's output tends to be low, and if the meter you use isn't precise (too much…"

"You can find out exactly when the dexcom receiver gets the reading on the xml report. Go to the studio software. Under the patients tab click on your name, then export data. It will ask you for the date range you want to export. It exports it to…"

Results from same sensor & transmitter, but 2 different receivers (with different revision numbers)

I had mentioned in another thread that my theory for why some of us were seeing new sensors not last as long as before had to do not with the sensors themselves, but with the receivers (that have had their software updated):…See More

Inaccurate blood glucose readings while sick?

I know it is normal do have higher BGs when sick, but is it expected for glucometers to be less accurate when under medication or sick?I've been using the Contour Next Link glucometer and my Dexcom G4 CGM for over a year now. I always wash my hands before testing. This morning I woke up, washed my hands, tested and my meter said: 143. My CGM said I was under 100, so I tested again and the meter said 101."No big deal," I thought, this happens sometimes... "good thing I tested again!"At lunch I…See More

"Yeah, it would be very interesting if when your sensor started having the ??? issues, that was only reported on one of your receivers. That being said, since you don't seem to have any of those problems before the 2 week mark (like many in this…"

"Thanks Clare! Good to know that I won't have to switch the transmitter... and who knows, maybe that transmitter is the issue! Especially if you have no issues with revision 2.0.1.158. I knew that you used 2 receivers but I wasn't aware…"

"What is the Software Revision number on your receiver? The reason I ask is that I used 2 new sensors so far with my new receiver (that has Software Rev 2.0.1.158) and did notice shorter lifespans than I've experienced in the past year. So I…"
