Hi Boshra, I know what you're saying, and my guess is every other diabetic has felt the same way, from time to time. You are not alone with these thoughts and don't need to beat yourself up with them. We are all bound to fail from time to time. B...

The best way to lose weight, whether you're diabetic or not, is to burn more calories than you consume. So, counting calories will most certainly help you to lose/maintain/gain weight (whichever you desire!). I personally count both calories and ...

It doesn't have to be an either-or situation; you can count both. I did it, and it worked -- but it was hard. The only problem I ran into was being too wary of lows -- I didn't want to waste calories on treating them. My new plan: do my best at ...

Boshra, I noticed you are insulin pumper , so you will count carbs, not calories , correct ? You probably could eat fewer carbs , which equates to fewer calories . When I started MDI ( before pumping ) I went from calories to counting carbs event...

my accomplishment of the day....

Came home from my ARCH. drafting class last night at 9pm, had a massive craving for something sweet. So, I had a small green apple and a low carb ice cream bar. My BL was already high so I corrected it and had my little snack ( I know it was a big snack)...anyway I over corrected and ended up having a low in the middle of the night. I hate it when I do that cause everytime I have a low in the middle of the night I get really bad head aches the next day and they make me feel sluggish and shitty.… Continue

is that to much to ask for?

I hate having diabetes. I have had it for only 3 years and the only time that I have felt okay about it was the 1st month that they told me I had the disease. I hate having to think about it but worst of all I hate how much weight I have gained. People tell me that I look really good but I sure as hell do NOT feel that way. I want and need to lose weight because if I don't then that is all I'll think about and nothing that I need to get done will get done. I check my BL regularly, I have an A1c… Continue

I love my pod, I feel as though it is only noticable to people who know I am wearing it, otherwise I barely notice it. Of course if you wear some skin tight shirt that would be another story. I think its just noticable for someone to look twice then decide something is wrong with their eyes.

Hey...you can do it! It's NEVER too late to learn an other language!
As well, one of the first stages of learning a new language, is understanding it when it is spoken...so, you're half way there!!!
Be well.....linda.

Wow...sounds like a fascinating field! Teaching is a second carreer....I started out being an Illustrator and Graphic Designer, which I studied for at university level....and which I let go, after I was home with my children when they were little. I decided to go into teaching....but still do illustrations on occasion!
I teach French to grades 1 to 4 (grade 3 so far is taught by another teacher due to scheduling)....and I also teach a component of English to grades 4 and 5.
Take care, luv......linda.

Welcome home Boshra.....I am happy that you are reading this and that you are a member of the growing TuDiabetes family.
Since the community was formed back in early 2007, lots of things have changed. Also since then, lots of new members have joined: we're now nearly 11,300 members. So, new members and new features means it never hurts to refresh how things work around the community.

If you haven't read it, I invite you to take a few minutes to go through our New Member Guide. If you have been a member for a while but have let a little dust accumulate on your TuDiabetes account, you will find it very useful. If you joined just recently, you will find it EVEN MORE handy.

If you don't find answers to a question you may have, never hesitate to ask. Click on the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page and one of the members of our Admin team (you can see their faces on the bottom right side of any page) will get back to you shortly.
