- Pre-Diabetes with oral at first. 14 first cousins on my Mothers side and 9 have diabetes. My mother and her mother (my grandmother both have diabetes). My grandmother got it at the age of 35, remember her sterilizing the glass syringes and needles in a pot on the stove.
