Well, I called up for my latest HbA1c results and I'm satisfied. 5.8

It's been 5.8 for the past 3 tests so I suppose that's a good thing. I'm still seeing the odd higher number 2 hours after dinner, that I don't like. 11's etc - and for no consistent reason that I can figure out (I do have to be strict with my carb levels at night). Not to mention higher fasting numbers - average is around 6.5 but has been up to 7.8. I've read online that a snack before bedtime helps, but for me it… Continue

Nervous

I'm nervous.

When I was first diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, my doctor has wanted me to see her every three months for a HbA1c. She also wanted me to have my eyes, feet and teeth checked regularly and see a nutritionist. I did that and saw her regularly, up until last December. In the last few months I just felt tired of seeing all those medical type people ALL THE DAMN TIME!

So, I haven't been back since December (early December at that).

This week, I've taken a… Continue

Hey Caramaena! Just popping by to see how you're doing. Do you have any questions or suggestions?
Great A1c...if you do have higher numbers in the course of the day, my sense is that you're having a fair amount of lows as well, in order to average out!
Love the pic. of the daisy....very sophisticated.
Take care, and keep in touch.....linda in canada.

I never get tired of explaining my name! The traditional Gaelic pronunciation begins with something approximating a "q" sound. My mother learned this after speaking with an Irish friend of hers and was given, "Kelty" which is either some shortened form (like "Beth" for "Elizabeth") or a more modern pronunciation. (I'm still trying to find a definitive answer!)

Probably more than you wanted to know... :)

I've put a link on my blog, but if you have any cute little buttons with the hands, I think it would be cool to put one up there.
