Caroline:
I confess I had to plug in your number into a converter:
http://www.childrenwithdiabetes.com/bs_conv.htm
to give you an answer, but 5 (90 mg/dL) doesn't sound like a low value to be worried about.

In my experience, values below 80 (4.44 in your scale) are the ones I get concerned about: I wouldn't drive with less than 80, for example.

There's plenty of topics in the Forum section on the matter of hypo and lows: check them out and let me know what you think.

Does this help?

Hi Caroline, welcome aboard!

I cannot personally answer your question about the best level of sugar, but I'm sure someone will come to the rescue soon :)

Here are some tips on how to make the most of the site.

If you find the community useful, w'd be honored if you could link to us on your blog/site if you have one or invite family, friends, colleagues and anyone whom you feel may benefit from it.

And if you know of any other folks who only speak Spanish, please let them know about EsTuDiabetes.com our sister Spanish-speaking community.
