cchelms replied to Sam I am's discussion 'Complications--not the common ones we are warned about....' in the group Type1 for 30 Plus Years
"TV, that's interesting. My creatinine levels are always excellent and the only heart valve issue I've had is an "innocent" murmur. Of course, I haven't had that checked lately but I've had anemia for over 20 years. It…"

cchelms replied to Sam I am's discussion 'Complications--not the common ones we are warned about....' in the group Type1 for 30 Plus Years
"Frank, I'd love to hear what you've found out about this. I have had chronic anemia for decades now - since my early 20s. I am 47 and have had diabetes for 31 (almost 32, in a couple of weeks!) years. I've never heard anyone mention…"

cchelms replied to JDavid's discussion 'New Member Intros (please)' in the group Needle Diabetics

cchelms replied to JDavid's discussion 'New Member Intros (please)' in the group Needle Diabetics

cchelms replied to JDavid's discussion 'New Member Intros (please)' in the group Needle Diabetics
"Clare, I didn't have benefit of the tiny needles because we had to use the equipment given to us by the study, but I think that would have made a difference. The pens were really convenient, I have to say. I know some young people who are using…"

cchelms replied to JDavid's discussion 'New Member Intros (please)' in the group Needle Diabetics
"You know, Michael, I think I'm just OCD enough to really dig the CGM. I wondered if it would be worth using if I weren't using a pump. I have a co-worker who uses a pump + CGM and she said it's almost too much equipment for her. :) I…"

cchelms replied to ryan's discussion 'how many uses per syringe for you?' in the group Needle Diabetics
"This sounds like me. I've been using syringes for 30 years and only used one syringe for one dose for, like, the first couple of years. Since then, I've been using syringes until they get dull and start to hurt or bruise my skin - usually…"

Welcome to the family! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of all you will learn that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and even to vent to, if needed. Welcome home.
