"Yeah, My insurance changed as well and where I was covered 100%, now I will be responsible for 50% under DME. Not to mention my premiums when up and when all is said and done, I will pay about $6000 more a year. :-( Also, I swear I cannot get a…"

"The PDM out of pocket was about $150. My insurance Anthem BC/BS of California covers pods two different ways. 1 - As DME at 20% copay of the negotiated rate, which puts the pod cost at about $5.50 (about $1.83/day). or 2 - As preventative supplies…"

Pump and Supply Costs

Hello,I know that it can vary from company to company and would depend on insurance coverage and what-not. However, does anyone know if the OmniPod PDM and Supplies are substantially more expensive than the other tubed pumps out there? i.e. Animas?Does anyone know if there are any cost comparison charts out there that can at least give me an idea? What do you all think??See More

Type 1 Diabetes, Gastric Bypass, and SUPER sensitive to ALL food!

Hello All,I was confirmed as Type 1 diabetic 8 or 9 years ago (I am currently 34). This was after I was told I was Type 2 and after I had an RnY Gastric Bypass (2004). I actually found out I was diabetic when getting my pre-op blood work completed. My question is this... I feel as though I cannot even have an extremely low carb meal (Chicken Breast, Green Beans, Mango Salsa) with out peaking at or above 200. I understand the salsa has natural sugar in it, but I never though that this meal would…See More

Day 1:

Well the night time was interesting... I activated my first sensor around 8:40pm. A little after 2 hours the receiver asked me for 2 blood draws. And of course I was low. In the 20's! I am really starting to think that my Omni Pod settings are all out of whack.

I got my sugar back to normal and got a low reading at night. It was low again... WTF... So I took some glucose tabs and a granola bar. Should have skipped the Granola.... For me lows will only be treated with…

Welcome to the family!! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of what you will learn is that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and vent to, if needed.
