Type 1 since I was 5 and recently diagnosed with the thyroiditis... always doing the balancing act. It's nice to come to a place where I can say "65 and dropping" and not have to explain what diabetes is or how insulin works or what that number means, but to have people understand what it's like in a very real sense. I've never been part of any diabetes group, in real life or online, so far everyone has been friendly and some of the conversations on here are great.

Ok so about me, I am a grad student at Georgia Tech studying Human-Computer Interaction. I play music (guitar mostly, bass, drums), record and mix music, do design and web stuff, social etc. and manage diabetes. So far it has been going well, but I'm only 21 years in on the betes, hopefully another 40 or 50 to go.

I would love to hear from some fellow type 1's (new or veteran!)! I'm a good listener and we already have at least one thing in common. :)
