- Hi Chiara, I wouldn't be too worried about having a healthy child.I am a type 1 and when I decided to start a family I made sure my control was good and ate the right foods and tested alot.The doctor wanted me to test before and 2 hours after eating.They put me on prenatal vitamins and took good care of me.My 2 sons are 14&16 years old and were born healthy.They are both in high school and excel in their studies.I worried about the outcomes of my pregnancies too.As it turned out I could have relaxed.

I know my doctor will celebrate when that happens, but probably not as much as yours. What a privilege it must be to have a doctor like that!!
