I love garlic! No vampires around my house. In the days before D, I'd roast whole garlic cloves & slather them on bread with butter & eat a whole loaf of bread. Aaah, those were the days. Would love to have your stuffing recipe.

OOOh, Gerri, my friend, I'm with you on garlic---I swear I'd eat garlic and butter on Burlap! Great ideas!......

Not everyone likes them, but I like roasted turnips with lots of garlic & olive oil. I'll eat anything if it's got enough garlic! Turnips can be thinly sliced & fried like potatoes, too. Or, baked in casserole with cheese, scallions, cream & herbs.

It's all true, of course, but I have to make my own cranberry sauce with Stevia----yummy. And I figured out a super stuffing made with Wasa flatbreads, tons of butter and garlic---also yummy. Root vegetales give me spikes. I'm thinking about tryin...

Christopher, I hate to burst your baloon, but "healthy food choices" gets thrown around with phrases like "simple diet," "sensible diet," and "exercise regulary." It's not so simple. For diabetics, carbs are the big food problem, not protein.I sug...

A Diabetic’s Guilt-Free Thanksgiving

A Diabetic’s Guilt-Free Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving Day has traditionally been thought of as a day of indulgent feasting. We rationalize the overeating as a minor indiscretion that can be made up by eating less before and after the big day. For diabetics this may not be a choice that promotes good health.

The truth is there’s a lot to honor about the Thanksgiving meal. According… Continue

The Restrictions of a Diabetic Diet?

The Restrictions of a Diabetic Diet?
Some readers may find it interesting to note that a diet designed for those who are diabetic may not be significantly more restrictive than diet plans simply designed to provide a healthy lifestyle.

Stevia And Diabetes

Stevia and Diabetes
It’s 300 times sweeter than sugar and is said to be beneficial to Type 2 diabetics. If you haven’t heard of it before the name of this natural product is stevia and it’s coming to America.

I suppose it may be more correct to say that people will see Stevia derived products more. It has been available here as a dietary supplement, but it is now moving forward as a food addi… Continue

Hey Chris - thought I would say hi - I'm in this city as well. I live in Alexandria. Hope all is well and look forward to talking to you. The docs really don't know if I'm type 1 or 2 yet, but they have me on insulin and say that they think this is type 1. So I take my shots and monitor the sugar levels until I hear otherwise. Averaging 160 range...
