I had one doc tell me that I likely had Graves disease (because of the weight loss) but I had NO other symptoms and in fact it turned out that I ha Hashimotos disease -- quite the opposite of Graves. I've learned that you have to question doctors and push until you are satisfied with a diagnosis or treatment.

I am glad that you are finding some good information here about LADA. I hope you are finding your way around the site? Let me know if I can be of any help. You have a great A1C! You will be an expert and feeling comfortable before you know it. Good luck. I hope that you have a wonderful day as well.

I was misdiagnosed as a T2 before being properly diagnosed about 8 months later in 2008. I had to get super sick before anyone would even check. The oral meds worked for about 2 months but then my BG started to skyrocket. Even then the endo tested for Cpeptides but didn't do the antibody testing. I ultimately changed endos. The new one took a look at my thyroid on an ultrasound and saw that I had Hashimotos. That's what led to the antibody testing because once she knew I had one autoimmune disease she assumed I had T1 too. But I went through a period of being super sick -- bgs averaging in the 500s and a 70 lb weight loss before I could convince the doctors that I really wasn't sitting around eating sugar to drive up my BG.

I'm also LADA and found TuDiabetes with a search on LADA, like you did. I have found this site to be a great resource and support.
