I just wanted to let all of you Tudiabetes friends and members that Clarence passed away on Dec.5. Send all thoughts and condolences to Lynn at summerbreeze1960@rogers.com. I am the secretary for his foundation The Blue Rose Diabetes Foundation.

Suggested guidelines for starting a support group sucessfully.

Posted on September 7, 2008 at 7:35am 7 Comments

What do you want out of the group? What do you want to avoid? How do you want the group to operate-no leader, rotating leaders? professional facilitators?,what guidelines for discussion are important to you? what are you willing to do to help the group function? There should be a limit set for the organizational discussion, at least half of the meeting should be devoted to discussing living with diabetes. AMIGO clarence.haynes@sympatico.ca

Clarance I belong to a support group. Most of the people are out of control with their diets. for our christmas party I brought homemade popcorn which no one wanted because it did not have salt on it. How can I make a difference in this group.

Oh no.....I am SO SO sorry to hear of Clarence's passing. Keeping dear Clarence as well as his family and friends in prayer.

You have touched us SO deeply Clarence....in personal support, in bringing awareness, in trying to support the refurbishing of Banting's birthplace. I am prod of, and a better person for, having known you.
