Insulet Technical Support is the best source for these types of questions. What I'm saying here is just my opinion.
1. Filling the pod to 200 will not make it run better, so just fill it with what you use over 3 days.
2. As far as I know, priming it with the cannula up or down should work the same. But I can see how it seems like it makes sense to prime it with the cannula pointing up :).
