My first a1c was a 13.9 and yeas I was super sick, three month's later my follow up was a 6.1 I'm active i surf, and have a physical job. So i've been experiencing more lows than highs and have tweaked my regamine a little, guess what i'm getting at is i have a lot of questions.

Hiya Danny! I'm also in PDX. Wow! April 2010 diagnosis for you - so this is all pretty new to you. Crazy stuff, huh? I know you never dreamed this would be your life this time last year. And now look at all the new and awesome friends you've found here! My thought has always been (well, since day 3 after my diagnosis) - I wouldn't have been dropped at the bottom of this mountain if I wasn't able to climb it. So that makes me, you, and everyone else here adventurers of another kind. I'm glad you found TU!

Which I'm very happy with as I've been eating more closely to normal and while not like before I was dx'd I feel comfortable going out with friends, family at events and getting together. I remember reading your post around thanksgiving and your path seems very similar to mine. Had a high a1c when first dx'd and then got it down like yours in the low 6's with shots.
