It's Been a While.....

Posted on September 19, 2014 at 6:19pm 4 Comments

It's been a long time since I logged in to this site.Alot has happened.I was a motel housekeeper at a motel in Windsor for 3 years when I decided to look for a new job in a hotel instead.I got tired of the cold in the winter and working outside at the motel.I found another job at an Inn that was indoors and newly renovated.I was also getting $1.25 more an hour.I have epilepsy but had brain surgery when I was 16.My seizures happen a few times a month, around my monthly cycle.I had 2 seizures…

The Lows Are Happening Again.

I have been doing alot of working and not able to test my basal rate.I am a housekeeper at a motel and the job is physically demanding. On the 15th of May I worked and when I came home had supper and started a load of laundry. Then I went for a shower and usually after a shower my blood sugar always go down.Kinda strange,I think. But anyway,i remember blow drying my hair and feeling a little out of sorts but it didn't click in.I then went to fold the clothes that came out of the dryer.I…

Doctor's Appointment

I recently saw my D doctor.I am taking Levothyroxine for hypothyrodism. He was going to increase it until I told him I was taking it with all my other meds.I started taking it separately 3 days ago and started noticing high blood sugars where I was always within my target range before.Should I just readjust my insulin levels or do 1 hormone pill every other day?I think I may be getting too much tsh, as I think that is the reason for my high blood sugars

Just Returned Home From Vacation

Posted on September 16, 2013 at 6:03am 3 Comments

We just got home from my motherinlaws houseboat. Is is located in Buckhorn Ontario just past Toronto. It is very hilly and your ears pop like crazy.I was feeling nauseous and had a full feeling but this was after vacation on the way home. When the feeling persisted for another day I started thinking it was gastroparesis. Can driving in the hills and valleys upset your stomach?I was thinking of purchasing some ginger root capsules to help with this.

Hi, Dee. Thanks for the friend invite! As for your question about the Custom Composer you are definitely asking the wrong person. I don't use the EzManager at all (I intended to and decided it wasn't worth the trouble) and I hate all alarms - mine or others! I do understanding how frustrating it is when technology won't cooperate in helping you achieve your goals so I hope you figure it out or get input from someone who can help!

Hello! Thank you for having me as a friend Dee!
Windsor....we're practically neighbours, but still it feels like you're right here! That's one of the appealing factors of tu.diabetes. I'm in Kitchener-Waterloo. I'm a wife of 33 years (hubby is also diabetic), mom to two grown children (one 28, the other 26), a grandma to 3 lovable little boys (and a 4th little one due late June!!), a teacher, and before that an illustrator (still do some) and graphic designer. I speak French fluently, I read, history fascinates me, I paint, sing, walk, garden, ski, ride my bike....did I mention "read"? I love having friends over, I bake/cook, am an eclectic music lover, an animal lover...the ocean...ah the ocean...it speaks to me! Oh...and I have diabetes (and a few other things).
Nice to have you as a friend!!! Tell me a bit about yourself and keep in touch, ok?
hugs....linda
