Distress and diabetes

Posted on December 16, 2008 at 8:56am 4 Comments

So it's the holiday season. Life is supposed to exploding with happiness and good cheer but this year is turning out to be one of the worst holidays I've had. Family problems--a possible divorce in the family, job insecurity, relationship woes are taking a toll on my diabetes control. In times of distress, I know that people have their weaknesses. Unfortunately, my weakness is comfort food. The first thing I want to do when something bad happens is scarf down some carbs. But living with Type 1… Continue

Alcohol

But when I eat it at night, it raises my blood sugar level, and I"m usually high in the mornings.

Which makes it almost impossible to get up.

Are there any cereals that are yummy and good… Continue

No, I haven't been there in years. I try to make to NYC every few years to see family. It would be nicer if the east and west coast weren't SO far apart.
