Andy commented on Jigga's group 'Tandem T:Slim Users'
"Estel, are you changing every two days because you use 125+ units per day? I always fill the pump and only change when it runs out. You can change sites and cartridges separately, which helps cut down on how much supplies you go through."

Andy replied to Terry's discussion 'System check passed?' in the group Dexcom Users
"I just ignore it. They aren't required for it to work."

Andy replied to Terry's discussion 'System check passed?' in the group Dexcom Users
"The Dexcom gets an electrical reading from the wire and needs to show us a result in units we can understand. If the ratio between the electrical reading and actually blood sugar is changing (as it may as sensors get older) than a calibration is…"

Andy replied to Annabella's discussion '2 hour start up period questions' in the group Dexcom Users
"You can always charge the receiver - that doesn't affect use. I've stepped out of range during start up, and it worked fine afterwards. I think it helps accuracy to be in range, otherwise it won't know what to calibrate to very well.…"

Andy replied to JacquiP's discussion 'Introduction and question' in the group Dexcom Users
"The goal of the Dexcom is to not have to test as often. It's generally very accurate for seeing the trends. Lots of people will complain that it doesn't match perfectly with their meter, but it does have a slight delay because it's…"

Andy replied to Terry's discussion 'System check passed?' in the group Dexcom Users
"It seems to be random. I've had it happen with no ill effects a few times. I once had a dying receiver that was out for a few days, and randomly showed "system check passed" and worked for another sensor before totally dying."

Andy replied to Scott Wilkins's discussion 'Apple Watch to work with DexCom' in the group Dexcom Users
"That was a cringe-worthy article. They seem to think that the Dexcom straps around the waist. They forget to mention that while you can get a Dexcom reading on your watch, you need Dexcom sensors, a Dexcom receiver, an iPhone, and and Apple…"

Andy left a comment for JB
"Yes, generally the Tslim is viewable in the sun. Sometimes it helps to hold it in a way with your hand above it to help shade it a little more. I bolus while riding all the time though."

Andy replied to rgcainmd's discussion 'Very excited about the new Dexcom Share mobile app' in the group Dexcom Users
"This is a good step, but not enough to make an upgrade purchase in my opinion. It's iPhone only, and still requires you to carry around the new Bluetooth Dexcom receiver. When it's Android-compatible and takes the Dexcom receiver out of…"

Andy replied to Scott A's discussion 'How do I know when transmitter as well as receiver batteries are going bad?' in the group Dexcom Users
"There's not really a benefit to replacing transmitters early. I'd still be paying a copay for it, and changing the Dexcom settings to accept it, so I just wait until it gives warnings and replace at that time."

Andy replied to Scott A's discussion 'How do I know when transmitter as well as receiver batteries are going bad?' in the group Dexcom Users
"The receiver shouldn't be an issue. My last receiver worked great for 2 years, until it had a fatal software error that required a replacement. The reps I spoke with said that it was very rare for a receiver to be working after 2 years, and I…"

Andy commented on Jigga's group 'Tandem T:Slim Users'
"Mario, I also have no issues with bubbles. I make sure not to have air in the syringe prior to filling, and also let some back pressure move any last air out of the cartridge before pulling the syringe out of it. When the luer lock is being primed,…"

Andy commented on Jigga's group 'Tandem T:Slim Users'

Andy commented on Jigga's group 'Tandem T:Slim Users'
"What's happened to this thread? People inexplicably think their pumps are failing them? If there's a problem with the pump, you should definitely contact Tandem. Changing to an old pump isn't going to give you a different dose..."

Andy replied to Annabella's discussion 'Charging the Receiver' in the group Dexcom Users
"I keep two usb cords by the bed and plug in my phone and the Dex or pump. They usually sleep under my pillow anyway."

I fell in love with cycling and ride about 4-5000 miles a year now. Half of that is the daily commute, but I also do some local races, and long 250+ mile rides in the summer.

Hi Andy hopefully you can help me. I am looking for something to affix to my bicycle handle bar to put my G4 receiver in so I can watch my reading as I ride.

Thanks
Gary
