I started on a very low dose of an SSRI (antidepressant) yesterday and noticed a bit of a drop in my blood sugars. This could be coincidence or time of the month, but as fear of lows is my problem I am now nervous and didn't take my SSRI this morning.Is anyone else on them and did you get a drop in blood sugar? Avastin - Eye clinic appointment

So I went to eye clinic today. The consultant is really nice and explains everything thoroughly but today I was informed he wants to stick a needle IN MY EYE!!! To give me Avastin for fluid in the retina. I've had extensive laser and he can't do any more of that because the leak is too near the centre of my vision.
Has anyone had this done? Apparently Avastin isn't licensed but they still use it here in the UK, as the licensed version is too expensive for the NHS to buy!!

After posting my plea for help on here, I have had loads of responses. Thanks everyone. One of which was to try the Bernstein solution. So I have the book from the library and am reading through it.
I have to say it does make sense, because one of the major problems I have is taking boluses of any size. I just imagine the insulin going in to me as a big puddle, and then…

Phew what a frustrating evening I had yesterday!
So I inserted the sensor for the Dex at about 4.20pm and left it for the 2 hours specified in the manual. It appeared to be doing what it was supposed to and hopefully the end of the 2 hour warm-up period would coincide with my pre-dinner bg testing so I could calibrate the Dex. Hmmm, good plan but Dexter (as I have now called him - yes he is a man!) had other ideas.
Two hours had passed and dinner was ready. It was 6.45pm… Continue
