big, Big, BIG news!

Posted on September 9, 2009 at 6:00pm 7 Comments

So, big news I am now the owner of a brand new paradigm 712 :) (there's a pic of it in my photos)

I'm pretty excited about it, the story of how i received this pump is kind of complicated.

Basically, it was donated to me by the girlfriend of a friend's brother, told it was complicated haha.

To make a long story short she had heard i was in need and told me that her parents had bought her a back up pump that she had never used, she asked them if they cared if she gave it to me,… Continue

So, the bg nightmare is still in full swing. Some of you may have read my discussion

Here about my fluctuating numbers. I decided to make a new logbook because the ones that come with meters are ridiculously tiny and annoying.

I'll give you guys my last seven days:

6-18:

29 @ 2:31 am

118 @ 1:11 pm

112 @ 3:40…

So yesterday I was in a bit of a tiff with life. For back story the last couple of weeks have been a testament to Murphy's law. My car decided to die on me and after replacing the battery, two fuses, the spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor it still wouldn't run, i figured out it's the ignition control module that's about a hundred bucks or so, and I'm going to have to wait two weeks to buy one. Oh and my right rear tire is flat. What a sweet deal, I spent 250 bucks and the car is… Continue

Numbers, numbers, numbers...my life is all about math.

Posted on June 1, 2009 at 11:15am 2 Comments

I hate math. I'm more into science and law. But as every diabetic knows....life with the beetus becomes life with math. I'm pretty lucky though I have a really great group of friends who are super supportive about counting things haha.

I do have some big news though, sanofi-aventis gave me a years worth of lantus for free! all i did was fill out some paperwork, make a copy of my tax return for verification of my poorness and take it to my doctor who filled out a section and three weeks… Continue

Sports and Diabetes

Posted on February 9, 2009 at 10:00pm 1 Comment

Soooo anyone out there play tennis? I absolutely love it. I also play softball and soccer but I used to play baseball before I tore my ACL and lost my scholarship. Anyway just wondering what kinds of sports you guys love to play or watch for that matter. I play tennis three to four days a week, mostly with my girlfriend and some of my friends. I actually picked up a tennis racket for the first time last summer and have since gone a little crazy with it. But as my doc says it's great exercise… Continue

Hi Ryan
Sorry for the late response time. Been a wee bit busy lately. How is everything going in your neck of the woods?

I agree. Wish there was some kind of "one time lump sum payment" which could pay for the cure. We could still make installments on it, if they need the friggin money. It's not like it's just going to magically stop happening- we'd still have people who contract the disease and then they'd make money off the cure every single time... right?

It's gotta be around the corner. I don't know how much longer I can hang on!

Yeah... I've been thinking about that. What happens when we retire? My insurance covers a lot of expenses... but what happens when I'm out of work? Will I ever be able to quit my job and work from home w my future kids?

I worry too much maybe.

Sounds fascinating! I don't normally read fantasy, but... I'll admit that I LOVE Lord of the Rings. A close friend of mine is really into those Wheel of Time books. And one of my girl friends is a fantasy writer (tho not published yet- she procrstinates bad)

My books are fiction. Told in narrative prespective.

One is about a runaway teenager who is abused by her alcoholic father. But there's a lot of really funny moments in it. Lots of introspection (is that a word?) and sarcasm.

Another is about the meaning of "Love" and how it has such a hold on us. The narrator has Type 1, which serves as the catalyst and unearths a lot of the underlying problems in her relationships. Still has some sarcastic moments and as a narration, introspecitve moments too.

Third is about a woman who doesn't know who she is without being in love. She uses men to "find herself" and even when I read it, I can see that she is totally masochistic in her tendencies to choose the wrong lovers. Destructive all around.

Fourth is a poetry collection.

All of my books, though storylines, also have poetry in them to break up the chapters.

Sorry for the book on your wall. haha. You asked!!!

I’m pretty good. The sun was out yesterday so I can’t complain!
No torts for you? lol It just so happens I'm in personal injury. Intellectual property has always sounded like fun to me too, well that and entertainment law!

Thanks Ryan!
Things have been... a struggle. I've really been struggling with my BG numbers. But over the past few days, I've been struggling to keep them UP. Before these past days, I couldn't get them DOWN. I don't really know what's going on w my body anymore. Ugh.
Hopefully a good change is coming soon. Can't take much more of this swinging stuff.
How've you been?? :)
