"I live very close to a Canadian border. Recently, I contacted a Canadian phaarmacy. The pharmacist told me beef/pork insulins are no longer available in Canada. Can any Canadians confirm this?"

I am doing well. I started insulin two years ago and have gotten my A1c down to much better levels. I've been much more active over here at tuD (and now help out with tuD), although I do drop by on occasion over at DD. I fondly remember some of your infamous human experiments on meters.
