dside replied to KML's discussion 'Traveling for the first time on a pump....' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"If flying, be prepared for the TSA to tell you that it's OK to go through the full body scanner with your pump on - it is not! Be prepared for a pat-down. It's a little inconvenient but not really so bad. Take extras of everything like…"

dside replied to Terry L Long's discussion 'Not Sure If I Should Switch' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"I used Medtronic CGM for several months, stopped for maybe a month, decided to give it another try for another month or two. It's cumbersome (but not impossible) to calibrate, somewhat painful or at best uncomfortable, expensive and inaccurate,…"

dside replied to Kj's discussion 'Insurance not covering Contour Next Test Strips' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"Bummer. I just ordered those for the first time and not sure if my ins is covering them or not. Wonder what Medtronic would have to say about that since they're pushing the Contour/Next meter."

dside replied to Kyle M's discussion 'Burning upon injection???' in the group Needle Diabetics

dside replied to Marypat's discussion 'Airport Security' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"Medtronic recommends that you not expose your pump to x-ray. Some full body scanners are a type of x-ray. You can request an alternate check like a pat down. A year ago I did this in Newark and the agents told me that it was fine for the pump to go…"

Sam Iam replied to dside's discussion 'Considering stopping CGM' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
