garidan replied to rgcainmd's discussion 'OmniPod and Apidra' in the group OmniPod Users
"Yes, apidra (usually) is known to kick in faster, and fade out sooner (3 hours or less). When you change the site for a new set/pod, a little of insulin is required underskin to: - fill the cannula - be absorbed by local skin cells - make a path to…"

Rod_Gr72 replied to garidan's discussion 'BGStar (and Agamatrix) software on 64bit windows'
"Hi Garidan, Do you know if there is a workaround to install the BGStar Software on a 64 bit Windows 8 computer. I think the problem relates to the 32 bit device drivers? It says BGStar setup wizard ended prematurely because of an error. I have tried…"

garidan replied to Jim's discussion 'Insulet, Dexcom agree to develop integrated pump-CGM' in the group OmniPod Users

garidan replied to Jim's discussion 'Insulet, Dexcom agree to develop integrated pump-CGM' in the group OmniPod Users
"No pump lets you insert insulin delivered by other means. You are supposed to use your pump, or not. Not to mix things up. Out of curiosity, would a pressurized suit let you wear a pod? I think the main problem is bubbles forming in the reservoir…"

garidan replied to Jim's discussion 'Insulet, Dexcom agree to develop integrated pump-CGM' in the group OmniPod Users
"No, you are right because it's related to next generation Dexcom sensor, the G5. The G5 transmitter will be "clever" and transmit over bluetooth 4.0 directly the computed BG value. The new PDM vill receive the value and graph it. No…"

garidan replied to Diabetes News and Interest's discussion 'Insulet and Dexcom Agree to Develop an Integrated CGM and PDM'

garidan replied to Elizabeth's discussion 'Disappointed in G4--Does anyone else find it less accurate than 7+?'
"I think ??? comes out not only when the receiver looses signal, but anytime the system doesn't feel "sure" of what the right number to show you is. If according to its last calibration it senses you are at 200 and you give a new…"

garidan replied to Elizabeth's discussion 'Disappointed in G4--Does anyone else find it less accurate than 7+?'
"Which meter you use to calibrate ? It's important it is precise, if not accurate. Its error has to be "stable" not once plus and the other minus otherwise the sensor gets broken references. Read diabetesmine about a CGM - meter…"

garidan replied to BennyL's discussion 'Pod Occlusion' in the group OmniPod Users
"Do you use the back of your arms ? Or lower legs ? Test unusual sites. Apidra is viscous as well, for it or temperature issues people usually change the pod after 2 days, not 3: do you have occlusions on the third day ?"

garidan replied to Jen's discussion 'No delivery with metal sets'
"I have no esperience about that, but by what you say it sounds like your set is too short and insulin stack up and stays under your skin when it happens. So it would be a site location and not a set problem. What set and what length do you use ?"
