Sh*t

Today at work, my pump is beeping like mad. I check to see what all the rukus is about.

HOLY COW!

16.3 units left.

Dammit, I forgot to change it this morning before I left work. (always in a rush in the morning, thats how I roll) Anyway, I actually IM one of my internet IM buddies to ask how long 16 units will last. She told me to check the pump because it gives you a count down. So I did. It said 15:10, so basically I had 15 hours left before it had no insulin. So I thought. 430pm came along… Continue

Have you ever?

Forgotten your blood machine anywhere?

A couple of weeks ago, I think I left my blood machine at Stop and Shop or it could be Costco, on third thought maybe it was Old Navy? Well, where ever it is right now I am positive noone is using it.

Mr. D

I’ve known Mr. D for a little over 7 years. We first met in my doctors office and I was scared of him, he even made me cry, it seemed that me and Mr. D were forced to be friends and he was going to be around for a while. I wasn’t sure if I liked that he was going to be around so much. But, I was going to give him a chance. It took a while for us to get used to each other but eventually we got on a routine. Everyday me and Mr. D would get up, eat breakfast together, take the train to work, have a… Continue

Help!!! Exercise Fanatics Inquire within

I need advice. What do you all do to prevent a low at the gym. I know I keep harping on this subject but I seem to really be struggling.

Last night I turned my pump to a 50% basal an hour before working out. I checked my blood it was at 115 before going into the class, so I took some sips of Gatorade and turned my pump to a basal of 0% for the remainder of the time I would be working out just like the diabetes team told me to do.

Halfway through the class I am in, I am sweating. Not your usual… Continue

Another Gym Fiasco

Sunday morning I woke up to go to my training session at the gym. She had me doing a new routine of strength training/cardio combo. After twenty minutes I started getting so tired, I could hardly lift my tired body. Then all of a sudden, I start feeling really nauseated. Which is not an odd thing for me because sometimes I feel like that during a gym workout.

So, because of how tired and weird I started to feel I checked my blood. 221. Then, my mouth starts to water. You know the feeling, right… Continue

Gina,
A few weeks ago I saw some html pages where you did a side-by-side comparisons of a few CGMs. I hope to obtain a CGM soon, and I wanted to review your remarks before making a decision on which brand to purchase. Can you send me a link?
Thanks!
James
