Thanks so much. It's funny, I just put in my first C-Detatch right before I logged on. The CDE from my pump start called and told me by phone plus like you, I looked at the booklet. I wasn't sure where to put the second part but it's fine and the set is very comfortable. Like you, I was trained on Insets and I hate them. I've had multiple problems and so have the Insets. They recalled a bunch of mine. They pull out immediately if you drop the pump. It doesn't swing at all - just comes out. Thanks for sharing your info as I was on my last nerve with Insets. I will also try to get a sample of the others you mentioned. Good luck to you too!

Hi GW, you are the man I need to talk to. I just saw your comments back in Jul about infusion sets to a girl asking about pumps. Okay, I've been pumping on the Ping a month and you are a man after my heart with your opinion of INSETS! I hate them and that's what I've been using. I've had different problems than you but Animas recalled one box plus two other individual sets. I get supplies from CCS and they have messed up two orders. Anyway, I won't go into all of it but as you know, if you drop your pump they pull out. They don't always go in, etc. I had a box that the clips would pull completely off when you took the needle cover or curled paper off. I hate them! I have some Contact Detatch. I'm suppose to send them back because they wanted me on 9mm but those bleed for an hr when removed so I'm sticking with 6mm as they go in fine. I guess they thought I was too fat but I've lost 12 lbs in a couple week period due to less insulin. That is what makes me gain. The 6mm do fine anyway. The CDE only showed me at my startup how to use Insets so I called the help line and asked them to talk me thru the Contact Detatch but they are not allowed unless I've been trained on them. I read the diagram and pamplet that is in the box. I think I can do it. Did you have to be trained on them and the Comforts? I ask you that because a woman at the helpline said she is going to call my CDE that di the start up and have her set up a meeting to show me several other infusion sets and train me as she could not believe all the problems when I told her. They keep a record anyway if you call with a problem so she could see that I'd only had infusion problems. Many of them! Do you suggest the Comforts as another one for me to try? Someone else mentioned a teflon canula for me to try. Did you try the Inset 30? They are suppose to be good for muscular or real thin or kids. I would even try that but gave the one that came with my pump, to the CDE the day she started my pump. She demos them so said I could not use it so I gave it to her. Now I wish I had it. I'm suppoe to return the Contact Detatch ones but now I don't know what to do. I've wasted so many Insets I'm going to run out before I get new supplies. Help GW!!! This is absolutely my only pumping problem.
