I just got my 2nd A1C back---been on Dexcom since June 2007---first was 6.0 but I battled alot of super lows from too much over correcting. Watching my BS rise was initally freaking me out.
Got the 2nd one back today---and I came in at 6.1.
I'm very happy with this...and it seems the Dexcom is worth the cost. Insurance battle is ongoing.

January 2007 – A1C – 7.3
March 2007 – A1C = 7.3
June 2007 – after buckling down and paying close attention to what I eat, when I eat, carb ratios etc – 6.6
Shortly after this one – I got my cgm
Sept 2007 – 6.0
6.0---I can hardly believe that---I was only this low one other time but was a paranoid freak - testing

For the most part, my Dex 3 has been right on with cgm and meter reads...but occasionally i get some sync issues.
I got a tip yesterday from Dexcom technical support...regarding Dex saying 190 and meter saying 120. Tech Support said and claims to have had some success with the following 'fix'
When this is discovered...upload your meter read to Dex....15 minutes later take another meter read and upload again. Within 30 minutes the Dex algorithm should get back in sync and be more

Well Crap - my brother, age 33, just called me from the ER. He was feeling bad at work(he works at a hospital) and asked a nurse to check his BS...it read HI on the meter...so they sent him to the ER - 1 hour later he got the news--Welcome to the World of Diabetes.
BS 686 and A1c = 11.0. They juiced him up with 10 units of insulin and an hour later his BS was 228 - I said, well at least you will get your first low out of the way while you are in the ER, get ready - 1 hour later he was
