indolent replied to cat's discussion 'freestyle Insulinx strips in omnipod meter?'
"I received a promotional insulinx meter and found the same thing between the regular Freestyle butterfly strips used in my omnipod and these insulinx strips. All readings were within 3 or 4 points of each other."

indolent replied to pancreaswanted's discussion 'sticking your strips in liquids other than blood and other curiosities'
"Google has a pretty good unit converter. Just search for [449 milligrams per deciliter in grams per ounce] (without brackets) and you get the answer of .13 g/oz. The meter is obviously not giving us a direct conversion, but that's not really…"

indolent replied to pancreaswanted's discussion 'sticking your strips in liquids other than blood and other curiosities'
"I assume those strips just tell you if there is sugar in the liquid, and do not quantify "how much?" My thought was to see if it is possible to get my meter to give me consistent enough readings to be able to make a conversion to grams of…"

indolent replied to pancreaswanted's discussion 'sticking your strips in liquids other than blood and other curiosities'
"I think your first question is kind of interesting as I have never thought to do that. I may try this by making few different drinks that have a controlled amount of sugar and testing them. If the results are repeatable enough, it would seem like a…"

indolent replied to Nell's discussion 'How do u dispose of coolpaks?'
"I just throw them away. I tried reusing them in coolers and such to keep things cold, but have found that they are not very durable. Most them have pin holes that leak the goo all over the place the first time they melt."

Gerry replied to indolent's discussion 'FastClix lancets supply issues?' in the group Accu-Chek Users
"I am on medicare, and I get my lancets (the Fastclix you are trying to get) through my pump supplier under durable medical goods -- not through a prescription plan. I use Liberty for my pump supplies and have had no problems."

FastClix lancets supply issues?

I have carecentrix for my prescription coverage. For the past four to five months, when I try ordering the fastclix lancets, they've been sending me a letter saying they are unable to get them from their suppliers. Anyone else with carecentrix or any other insurance running into this problem? My prescription was previously written for many more lancets than I normally use so it's not a huge deal, it just seems odd that they have been unable to get them for so long.See More
