I don't usually attend these things after I went to the first one BUT - it might be a good excuse to meet some of the So.Cal. members of tudiabetes. Anyone planning on going?

Hi! Thanks for those words ofcomfort!! Congratulations!!! God Bless your child!! Hope he grows to be a healthy wornderful brilliant person!!

I'm not pregnant but I had everything "planned" out. I got married 1 1/2 year ago and I didn't want to have children right away, so we waited. Now our plans were to start planning "working" on a baby on June-July, but everthing has sort of changed since I found out I had Type 1 diabetes in January 2009. My A1C was 11.5 when I went into the emergency. It was probably like 4 months ago I was a healthy 125 pounds 5 feet person. When I began to loose weight I just thought it was because of all the stress and the 2nd job I had. So I left me 2nd job and I didn't get any better. So when I went into the emergency walk-in clinic, that day my life change. Now I'm just scared to bring a "sick" baby into the world and all the trouble I have to go thru. I've managed to bring my A1C to 9.2, but that's not good enough. I have a long way to go to be where I have to be before I can begin to have a healthy pregnancy. I am now 105 pound and I feel soooo skinny!! I mean I know I just met you but seriously, MY BUTT IS GONE!! LOL!!! I miss my J.Lo bum!!! I am trying so hard to gain at least 10 pounds more ever since I started on insulin, but it's not working. I know I probably sound like a "nut" but I'm sooo serious!! LOL!! So I guess this is only the beginning of a hard journey!! I just really want to have a "normal" pregnancy. All my friends have babies and I saw how awesome it was, and to think of how terrible it's going to be for me, I get so angry. I know I have to learn to deal with it and live on, but right now I'm just very devasted, dissapointed, angry and feeling just terrible.
Thanks for sharing a peice of your life with me; I appreciate it!! :)

OH I SO LOVE MY OMNIPOD IT IS THE BEST THING EVER, AND WITH LITTLE KIDS I HAVE ONLY HAD LITTLE PROBLEMS, LIKE WHEN ITS AROUND MY WAIST SOMEWHERE AND HOLDING A CHILD ON YOUR HIT IT GET HIT, I'VE NEVER HAD ONE FALL OFF OR ANYTHING JUST SOME DISCOMFORT. BUT IT IS VERY VERSITILE I LIKE IT ON MY ARM IT IS OUT OF THE WAY THERE. REALLY THE POD IT THE GREATEST THING TO HAPPEN TO MY DIABETES. I WENT FROM A 9.1 a1c TO A 6.5 a1c. GOOD LUVK WITH WHAT YOU CHOOSE.....
