- I also have Diabetic Retinopathy, besides cataracts. I am suffering from other diabetic complications. Doctors have disagreed about what type of diabetic i am. I was diagnosed in my late teens. They are not sure if I am type 1, 2, or 3. I do know I am a brittle diabetic.
I also have gastroparesis, and my diabetes is severely affecting it.

I am sorry i haven not been very active here. I have benen going through hell for over a year. Things have reallywent down hill. The complications have really hit me hard. I have other health issues and disabilities too. I have been miserable. Sometimes i just want to give up.

I have been going through some serious health issues for the past year. It has been pretty rough. I've become desperate enough for help, and very disappointed in the local medical system to cause me to go this week to a large medical center for help, which is approx. 80 miles away.
Also, my Medicare Advantage plan sent me a new meter & test strips. It is a Clarity Advanced meter ( I've never heard of this brand ). Any advice is welcome. I am thinking about getting a data cable so I…

How's it all going Jamiet? I am happy that you are reading this and that you are a member of the growing TuDiabetes family.
Since the community was formed back in early 2007, lots of things have changed. Also since then, lots of new members have joined: we're now nearly 11,300 members. So, new members and new features means it never hurts to refresh how things work around the community.
If you haven't read it, I invite you to take a few minutes to go through our New Member Guide. If you have been a member for a while but have let a little dust accumulate on your TuDiabetes account, you will find it very useful. If you joined just recently, you will find it EVEN MORE handy.
