"Hey Cherise! I was just wondering if you were successful in the completion of your Graphic Novel?
Was it about someone with Diabetes?
I've been toying with the idea of doing one as well! :)
Let me know!!"

"I'm all of a sudden getting this as well, only for me its weight gain and not loss (GRRR!). I'm suspecting maybe the time of year (for me), being sick with a cold, and possible tooth infection making my sugars go high? Called the endo…"

Hi Jen, It's been a long time since i've been on this site. It's nice to see a fellow proactive individual dealing with the same struggle in Oak Park. I've been doing well with the CGMS; it works well for me.
Hi Jen, Glad to hear of your success with a raw vegan diet! I have been a veg for 20 years and a vegan for 6. I see you are in Oak Park. I am very close to you in Chicago. I lived in Oak Park for six years and I love it there! Hoping to move back there some day! I shop at the River Forest Whole Foods! :)
The part of advocacy is of interest. I don't know about you, but I'm impatient with how slowly the economic side of healthcare is going. This country treats its sick like vermin. Anyway, I do art to cope. Check out my profile.
Thanks for your comment-- and for reading my blog (sometimes I wonder if anyone reads my ramblings :) ...)
I can only begin to imagine the feelings that you had as a 12 year-old trying to figure out what was going on.
The reason that I think of my diabetes like a relationship (strong friendship, marriage, parental relationship, etc) is not because I'm positive about it ALL the time, but because it is always there and just like other relationships, I can get frustrated some days.... have reasons to celebrate others.

I'm glad you are here .... it's SO much better not to be alone!!
Thanks for the comment. How are you? I will be happy to chat with you about diabettes and life and whatever. Yes I have a coszmo. I got it about 1-2 monthes ago but I have been on other pumps since 1999. I live in Seattle but am in Chicago several times a year becasue my family lives there.
