Hello jwinc - yes. Alot of Vitrectomies is right. All due to hemmhorages is the eyes. When they all started my A1C was 13, so my control, was kinda bad. I have pushed my A1C down to 6.5 now (respectable, but still needs improvement) I have run the gambut on complications, right up to a mssive hemmhoragic stroke back in 2005...2 smaller strokes since. Anyway, stay cool!
WOW, sorry this is not about your problem with your eyes, but I just cant imagine your having ANY difficulties when your A1C is 5.8! I would kill for numbers like that! Believe me, I empathize with the eye difficutles, I muself have had over 30 vitrecomies (both eyes) and 2 cataract revovals (1 in each eye)...My gyess is after you have had the cataract removed things will improve greatly. They did for me, with each time! In any case, good luck and PEACE

Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and even to vent to, if needed. Welcome home.
