brokenpole said… Welcome to the family! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of all you will learn that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and even to vent to, if needed. Welcome home.

Welcome home kelley!
Oh...there are days that feel SO MUCH like that....like you can't take it anymore....when you never seem to be ever feeling well. As you said up there...you have a reason to "be". Know that you are NOT ALONE. Many here at Tu. feel the same way. You have come to the right place Kelley ♥
This is a great place to share, to learn, and to grow...all the while meeting new people world wide, and making friends.
Take a peek at some the groups when you get a chance. Just go to the top of your page, and click on "Groups". Once in,
click on "all groups". You can either peruse the wide array of available groups....or simply type a specific interest in the

Take in some of the blogs/discussions as well.
The resource boxes at the top of the home "Home" page, and

Welcome, Kelley! TuDiabetes is a great place to get real world answers to many of the problems of living with diabetes. There are many compassionate, seasoned, and smart members here. It's kind of like a diabetes brain trust with a heart. It's made a large contribution to the quality of my life!
Buddy King said… Hard for me to imagine the increased complication(s) bipolar would add. Low sugar alone can trigger feelings not-so-positive. Finding the "right" health provider is a big key. Someone who both understands and sympathizes with your situation. I have been a type 1 (I have no idea what the letters after that could mean)for more than sixty years. Started, as a child with a doctor who never smiled, scolded and informed me before I was ten that I might live to see thirty. Now I am sixty-six and quite healthy. I have a physician who laughs, a nurse-educator who has led me to this group, treatment for thyroid deficiency which aided the depression that I was experiencing. Identify the strong, happy person that you are and will be for your family and friends, and when it just doesn't seem that way identify that the chemicals are "off" and that your task is to get them right.
There are a lot of generous people here who will help with any negative feelings or thoughts. You can get this right and we can help.
Jacob's mom said… kelly, welcome to tu, this is such a great site for support, i hope that you are getting treatment for your bipolar as it is generally responsive to therapy. there is a lot of bipolar in my family, ironically we used to connect getting treatment for bipolar like a diabetic needing insulin, no stigma your body just needs the medicine. well now my son is diabetic and i see the connection is not so clear as diabetic management is so much more complex than popping a lithium everyday. in any case, i hope you find your way to your inner strength, start by looking in your daughters eyes and also your own. you have more resolve and strength than you realize. try taking one moment at a time having faith that if today feels very heavy tomorrow or next week or next month there will be light. sending your healing energy and comfort. amy
